Forty
meters floating free,
Pathways
sky-borne amidst Kapok trees,
Cables,
netting, rope and wood,
No
chance of falling but a pathway should
Not
move beneath a walker’s foot
Or
tremble as each step is took.
A
forest trail should be dirt and rock,
Primeval
stuff of more stable stock
Root
and leaf not air and sway,
But
no trail-tied traveler on earth-bound way,
Can
scan the treetops
And see
the clouds at play.
